Pretty much sums up how it's been around here lately.

Coat definitely required!

Self development

(viewed 396 times)
Kind of lost my photo mojo over the last month. My mother passed away on 13 March and although it was expected and she had lived to the grand old age of 91, I still haven't had the urge to pick up a camera until the last couple of days.

Yesterday, though, I finally achieved a long standing ambition to develop my own film. The photos are from my Rolleicord TLR, I developed them myself and scanned the negatives and these photos are some of the shots from that film.

With the Rolleicord you have to remember to wind on the film after you've taken a shot, otherwise you get double exposures. Sometimes I quite like the result of accidental double exposures, though, like in the last shot of Tim.

Anyway, it feels good to have finally developed my own photos and I hope to do a lot more in the future. There is something about the subtle textures and tones of film that you just don't get with digital.

Having a nice lie down

I'd stopped to take some photos, so what's a dog to do? Stretch out on the grass in the sun, that's what.

B&W Sunset

Hard to imagine it on a very gloomy Monday but we did catch a glimpse of the sun over the weekend.

(not so) New Toy

(viewed 362 times)
This is my latest acquisition, a Rolleicord Va TLR. Made around 1958/59 it's even older than me (just). I've always wanted one since I borrowed my cousin's when I was a teenager. And now, through the magic of Ebay I finally have one.

It produces beautiful 2¼" square negatives. And the bottom 2 shots are from the last roll of film I had developed.

Different perspective

Both of these photos were taken within minutes of each other this afternoon from almost the same spot.
