I've seen a hack to get Mac OS X onto an Eeepc, not that you would need it but it sounds like fun. And it would confuse people when you pull it out of your bag.
I have Ubuntu Intrepid running on it, with all the fancy interface effects and everything :)
I bet.
I have that U3 USB key too. I like it, but the flashing orange light really annoys me.
I really enjoy using my little eeePC. The small keys took a bit of adjusting too and I still haven't worked out how to install things on linux such as ff3, rather than the crashy version I have on it. But other than that, I think they're great.
540, have a look at http://www.array.org they have instructions for installing ubuntu and have a custom kernel which supports all of the hardware properly. It is very easy to do, and means you don't have to use the god awful version of "linux" it ships with.
Thats actually a html page with some javascript, the application is for a client and is built in PHP
